Job Description: Stores/Inventory Manager (Electronics Manufacturing Industry)

Position Overview: The Stores/Inventory Manager in the electronics manufacturing industry is responsible for overseeing the storage, organization, and management of raw materials, components, and finished goods within the warehouse or storage facilities. This role ensures that inventory levels are maintained, orders are processed efficiently, and that there is seamless coordination between the supply chain, procurement, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of inventory, ensuring that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels to meet production requirements.
    • Conduct regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
    • Monitor stock movement and implement systems for tracking inventory across different stages of the production process.
  • Warehouse Organization:
    • Maintain an organized storage system for raw materials, electronic components, semi-finished, and finished products.
    • Ensure that all items are stored in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
    • Oversee the proper labeling, shelving, and tracking of inventory to minimize loss, damage, or misplacement.
  • Supply Chain Coordination:
    • Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials needed for manufacturing.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to handle shortages, stock-outs, and returns of defective products.
  • Stock Replenishment & Procurement Support:
    • Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure timely replenishment of materials based on production schedules and usage patterns.
    • Provide feedback on material consumption and help forecast future inventory requirements.
  • Inventory Control Systems:
    • Implement and manage inventory control software or systems (e.g., ERP systems) for tracking and reporting inventory status.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all inventory handling complies with safety standards and environmental regulations, especially when dealing with sensitive electronic components.
    • Adhere to industry standards for handling hazardous materials (if applicable).
  • Team Leadership & Training:
    • Manage and supervise warehouse staff, providing direction, training, and performance feedback.
    • Ensure staff is equipped with proper knowledge of inventory control processes, health and safety guidelines, and company policies.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and any discrepancies to senior management.
    • Ensure that proper documentation is maintained for all inventory-related transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • A relevant certification such as APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5-7 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse management, preferably within the electronics manufacturing sector.
    • Familiarity with the handling and storage of electronic components, parts, and materials is a significant advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Inventory Management Systems: Strong experience with inventory management systems or ERP software.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze inventory data, forecast requirements, and implement solutions to optimize stock levels.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage and organize large volumes of inventory, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy.
    • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying discrepancies, resolving inventory issues, and finding solutions to operational challenges.
    • Leadership & Team Management: Experience leading teams, training staff, and ensuring smooth operations within a warehouse or stores environment.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when managing inventory records, performing audits, and tracking materials.
    • Communication Skills: Clear communication abilities to interact with different departments, suppliers, and team members.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and warehouse operations.
    • Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and solve problems quickly.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Six Sigma or Lean certifications may be beneficial for process improvement efforts.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Manesar, Gurugram
    • Typically works in a warehouse or manufacturing facility setting, with some office-based responsibilities for reporting and coordination.
  • Working Hours: Full-time with potential for occasional overtime, especially if there are urgent production needs or inventory discrepancies.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that manufacturing processes are not disrupted due to material shortages and that inventory is managed efficiently to support the production schedule and company operations.
