Lead - Purchasing and Supply Chain (EV Three-Wheeler)

About the Role:

Metz Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the purchasing function for our upcoming EV three-wheeler project. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing and managing the supply chain for critical components, including metal, rubber, plastic, and electrical parts. This role will be instrumental in driving cost optimization, ensuring timely procurement, and building a robust supplier network to support the vehicle's production lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for metal, rubber, plastic, and electrical components.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to ensure cost efficiency.

Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Develop strategies for inventory control and demand forecasting to support production timelines.

Cost Optimization:
- Implement cost-saving initiatives through alternate sourcing, volume discounts, and logistics optimization.
- Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for price reduction and value addition.

Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that all sourced materials meet the required specifications and standards.
- Address supplier-related quality issues promptly.

Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure long-term partnerships.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews and drive improvement initiatives for the supplier network.

Process Improvement:
- Leverage tools like SAP or ERP systems for efficient procurement planning and operations.
- Implement best practices in procurement processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related .
- Experience:
  - 8+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain, preferably in the automotive or EV industry.
  - Proven track record in sourcing metal, rubber, plastic, and electrical parts.
- Skills:
  - Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems.
  - Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  - Expertise in inventory management, demand forecasting, and supplier relationship management.
  - Knowledge of quality standards (IATF 16949:2016 or similar).
