Job Title:* Assistant General Manager - Purchase

 *About the Role:* 

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled *Assistant General Manager - Purchase* for a prominent automotive OEM based in Bangalore. This is a leadership role requiring expertise in procurement, supplier management, and technical processes related to fabrication parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, welding, paint shop processes, and commercial negotiations. 

*Key Responsibilities:* 

1. *Procurement Management:* - Develop and implement procurement strategies for fabrication parts, ensuring alignment with company goals. - Identify and onboard reliable suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.

 2. *Supplier Management:* - Conduct supplier audits and evaluate performance based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics. - Drive supplier development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organizational standards. - Build long-term relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation.

 3. *New Product Development:* - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development. - Ensure timely availability of components and tooling for smooth production ramp-up. 

4. *Technical Expertise:* - Provide insights into fabrication, welding, and paint shop processes for optimized production. - Oversee the design, procurement, and implementation of tooling and fixtures. 

5. *Cost Management:* - Employ zero-based costing techniques to evaluate and control procurement costs. - Analyze cost structures and ensure optimal pricing for parts and services.

 6. *Commercial Negotiations:* - Lead complex commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company. - Develop and manage contracts ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. 

*Qualifications and Experience:* - *Education:* B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. -

 *Experience:* Minimum of 17 years in the automotive sector, with a focus on procurement and supplier management. - 

*Technical Expertise:* In-depth knowledge of fabrication, welding, and paint shop operations. Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, and production processes. - *Costing Skills:* Expertise in zero-based costing and financial analysis of supplier proposals. - *

Negotiation Skills:* Proven ability to manage commercial negotiations with suppliers at various levels. - *Leadership:* Demonstrated capability in leading cross-functional teams and managing supplier relationships.
