* Brenstone is hiring a *Chief Material Officer (CMO)* for a leading automotive company based in Pune. The ideal candidate will oversee and optimize the entire materials management lifecycle, including procurement, logistics, and supplier relationships, ensuring operational excellence and costeffectiveness. The role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing steel procurement, BOM cost reduction, and supply chain standardization in the automotive industry. ---

 #### *Key Responsibilities:* 

1. *Procurement and Vendor Management:* - Lead procurement strategies with a focus on *steel purchase* and key materials. - Develop and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance. - Oversee *supplier audits*, development programs, and performance assessments. - Drive *cost reduction initiatives* through strategic sourcing and effective negotiations.

 2. *Budget Management:* - Manage and optimize the *annual materials budget*, ensuring alignment with business objectives. - Implement strategies to achieve *Bill of Materials (BOM) cost reduction* while maintaining quality and delivery standards. 

3. *Supply Chain Standardization:* - Develop and implement standardized supply chain processes across the organization. - Ensure alignment with global best practices and regulatory requirements. 

4. *Logistics and Cost Optimization:* - Reduce overall *logistics costs* through innovative practices and process enhancements. - Optimize transportation and inventory management to improve efficiency. 

5. *Strategic Leadership:* - Formulate and execute strategies for material planning and supply chain optimization. - Monitor and address market trends, risks, and opportunities affecting the supply chain. 

6. *Team Management:* - Build and lead a high-performing materials and procurement team. - Foster collaboration and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team. 7. *Commercial Negotiations:* - Lead high-stakes *commercial negotiations* with suppliers to secure competitive terms. - Establish long-term partnerships with strategic suppliers. ---
