We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize the full supply chain process at our Coimbatore plant for a European MNC. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in procurement, logistics, inventory management, vendor development, and strategic planning—ideally within auto component or textile manufacturing sectors. This role requires strong leadership, analytical ability, and a hands-on approach to ensuring smooth operations and timely material availability.
Develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and components.
Identify and qualify vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate supplier performance.
Drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
Coordinate with technical and quality teams for supplier approvals and audits.
Lead demand forecasting, production planning, and material requirement planning (MRP).
Collaborate with production, sales, and finance teams to align supply chain planning with business goals.
Monitor market trends, material price fluctuations, and risks to ensure procurement continuity.
Maintain optimal inventory levels—reduce excess stock and eliminate shortages.
Manage warehouse operations, ensure stock accuracy, and conduct regular cycle counts/audits.
Implement inventory control methods like FIFO, JIT, and safety stock strategies.
Manage inbound and outbound logistics—transportation, customs clearance, and documentation.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, and warehouse teams.
Optimize freight cost, route efficiency, and delivery timelines.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
Regularly evaluate supplier KPIs—on-time delivery, cost, quality, responsiveness.
Explore alternate sourcing and localization opportunities to mitigate supply risks.
Identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Use lean tools, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency.
Lead or participate in cross-functional improvement projects.
Manage procurement and inventory transactions through ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Generate MIS reports and dashboards to track KPIs and improve decision-making.
Ensure adherence to statutory compliance, import-export regulations, GST, E-way bills, etc.
Maintain procurement and logistics documentation for internal and external audits.
Strong knowledge of sourcing, inventory, logistics, and supplier management
Expertise in ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle SCM, or similar)
Strong negotiation and analytical skills
Hands-on experience with MRP, VMI, JIT, and Kanban systems
Good understanding of textile machinery or auto component supply chains
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Mechanical / Production / Industrial
MBA in Operations / Supply Chain (preferred)
10+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing set-up (Auto Component / Textile preferred)
North Indian candidate open to relocating to Coimbatore
Background in auto component, textile, or capital goods industry
Strong leadership with ability to manage cross-functional teams
Exposure to domestic and international sourcing
