Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Transmission Specialist to diagnose, repair, and maintain transmission systems in vehicles. The role involves working with automatic, manual, and CVT transmissions in cars, trucks, and other heavy-duty vehicles. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with transmission disassembly, troubleshooting, and rebuilding, along with a strong understanding of drivetrain components.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot transmission issues in vehicles.

Repair and rebuild automatic, manual, and continuously variable transmissions (CVT).

Perform fluid changes, clutch replacements, and torque converter repairs.

Use diagnostic tools to identify transmission-related problems.

Disassemble and reassemble transmissions to replace worn or damaged parts.

Test vehicles post-repair to ensure proper functioning.

Work closely with service advisors to provide repair estimates.

Stay updated on the latest transmission repair techniques and technologies.

Maintain records of repairs and parts used in service.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Diploma or certification in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in transmission repair.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and scanning equipment.

Strong knowledge of transmission systems, including gears, shafts, and torque converters.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Problem-solving skills to diagnose complex transmission issues.

Attention to detail and precision in repair work.

Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in a garage environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification from ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or an equivalent body.

Experience working with hybrid and electric vehicle transmission systems.

Knowledge of computerized transmission systems and electronic control modules.
